The medium length story:
Disturbance was a rock band active from 1986 - 1994. Brothers Dean and Dan Fowler (guitar and drums respectively) started the band in Alabama, performing covers at local high schools. After moving to Orlando, FL, they teamed up with David (Dave) Fury (vocals, keyboards and percussion) to write and record original songs. After self-releasing a pair of albums, the band gained the attention of a music attorney and manager, who connected them with Polygram Music Publishing for a co-publishing/artist development deal. Friend of the band David Walsh joined in January of 1990 on 2nd guitar and backing vocals. In early 1991, they added Michael Neathery (bass, backing vocals) to complete the linep.
In March of 1991, the band moved to Memphis, TN where they quickly developed a following and began headlining the biggest club in town within 3 months. By early 1992, they’d signed with Zoo Entertainment (a division of RCA Records) and in late spring began recording their debut album at Ardent Studio in Memphis, with Tom Harding producing. Mike Fraser (The Cult, Aerosmith, AC/DC) mixed the album at the famed Little Mountain Studios in Vancouver, B.C.
We Come Out At Night was released on March 23, 1993, along with the single and video for “Resolution.” Disturbance toured with Dangerous Toys in the spring of 1993, and later headlined a few of their own shows across various spots in U.S. The album also earned an International release.
The band relocated again in the summer of 1993 to Los Angeles, CA where they began writing and recording demos for the follow up album. Despite having written around 12 new songs, the band called it quits in the fall of 1994.
